Director's Vision

The story I share in this film is inspired by my personal experience, but speaks to a universal human connection. Two women of very different ethnicities and personalities meet in high school, grow through adolescent milestones together, lose touch as family and career pull them in unique directions...yet their bond sustains throughout life's celebrations and challenges.

It is my debut film that has been awarded more than 25 selections at national and international film festivals around the world. In winning an IndieFEST Film Award, Friendship joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award including 2021 Academy Award winner “If Anything Happens I Love You." The film was recently nominated for the Montreal Independent Film Festival, a popular annual festival that attracts Cannes award winners, Oscar nominees, and emerging independent film projects.

Friendship celebrates the beauty of a lasting commitment: when you find your way back together and reconnect again, it feels like no time has passed. I hope this film gives viewers the joy of reminiscing and inspires them to reconnect with friendships in their own lives, perhaps even preventing depression caused by isolation: Friendship, both in this film and in reality, shows that human connection and bonding is a lifeline.

“True friends are never apart, maybe in distance but never in the heart.”
